Tail unit

When the battle is over, the recovery begins.

Rehabilitation of victims of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the heart of nature

A little about us

The "Tail Unit" association was established out of a deep understanding: fighters, security forces personnel and their families, and victims of terrorism who carry psychological wounds - need a rehabilitation space that understands them. A quiet, grounded, and full of life space.

We are leading the establishment of the "Marpe Mazen" Center - a unique resilience and rehabilitation center in Israel, which combines ecological land work, animal-assisted therapy, mind-body exercises and a full hospitality infrastructure, to create a complete rehabilitation continuum in a safe environment at the foot of Mount Gilboa.

What are we doing?

We believe that true rehabilitation does not focus only on symptoms, but on the whole person. Trauma affects the body, the mind, the sense of security, relationships and the ability to return to routine and a full life. That is why we have developed a unique holistic rehabilitation model, which combines emotional therapy, working with animals, a connection to nature and ongoing social support, all in one supportive and safe framework.

Our activities at the "Marpe Mazen" Center are based on four main core areas, which work together to create a deep and meaningful rehabilitation continuum:

Therapy dogs and service dogs

Training and adaptation of professional service dogs for victims of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The dogs help reduce anxiety, cope with panic attacks, improve sleep quality and create a sense of security and stability in everyday life. The adaptation process is done personally and accompanies the patient throughout the process.

Riding and therapeutic work with horses

Research-based emotional therapy using horses, which allows for a renewed connection to the body, regulation of the nervous system, and building renewed trust in yourself and your surroundings. Working with horses combines therapeutic riding, ground work, and group and individual exercises in a safe and inclusive environment.

Therapeutic Resilience Farm

A nature-based rehabilitation space operating in the heart of an ecological farm at the foot of Mount Gilboa. Participants take part in therapeutic agriculture, orchard work, sustainable gardening, and mind-body practices such as Feldenkrais, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. The connection to the earth and the rhythm of nature allows for a calm, stable, and grounded rehabilitation process.

Social and community rehabilitation

A personal and group support package that helps victims and their families return to functioning, community, and relationships in their lives. Activities include support groups, family support, peer mentoring, career guidance, and workshops to develop life skills and strengthen a sense of belonging.
